#1 Excavation & Site Grading in Lewis & Cowlitz County

Building pads, cut and fill, and finish grading, done to plan and ready for construction.

intro

Good construction starts with good dirt work. Rockridge handles cut and fill earthwork for residential and commercial sites, balancing elevations to your design grades so you get stable pads and water that drains away from your buildings.

We work from engineered plans on commercial jobs and help homeowners plan simpler sites. Our crews serve Toledo, Chehalis, Centralia, Winlock, Castle Rock, Kelso, Longview and the surrounding area.

Excavation and grading FAQ

What is cut and fill? Cut and fill means removing soil from high areas and placing it in low areas to reach the planned grade. Balancing the two on site reduces hauling and export cost.

Do I need an engineer for my grading project? Commercial projects and steep or large sites usually do. Simple residential pads often don't. We can tell you after looking at your site and county or city requirements.

Why does compaction matter? Poorly compacted fill settles over time, which can crack slabs and foundations. We place fill in lifts and compact each one to spec.

Can you work on hillsides? Yes. We handle sloped sites and can build retaining walls where the grade change calls for one.
