Foundation excavation FAQ
Do I need a geotechnical report? Many commercial projects and sites with steep slopes or soft soils do. For typical home sites the county may not require one. We'll flag soil concerns we see during excavation.
What if you hit poor soil? We over-excavate the soft material and replace it with compacted structural fill, as directed by the plans or engineer.
Do you backfill after the foundation is poured? Yes. We install footing drains, downspout drains, backfill and compact around the foundation and grade so water flows away from the building
Do you dig basements? Yes.
